When It Comes to Sex Ed, Ignorance ≠ Bliss

As a marriage and family therapist, I have been witness to this illogical perspective more than once.

Religious extremists tend to favor this perspective when it comes to sex education. They believe that if you teach abstinence — and only abstinence, without any comprehensive understanding of sexuality, diseases, safety, etc. — then teens will, in turn, not have sex.

Turns out, they’re wrong. And there’s proof.
